Registration and Major Holds
CJBS Major Hold
If you are a sophomore or lower junior and you have a Major Advisement (ADV) hold on your account, you need to print out a current copy of your student degree audit, complete the CJBS worksheet, and either email it to the CJBS Coordinator OR drop it off in the Law & Police Science Department.
If you have an ADV hold, please follow the procedure outlined below to have your ADV HOLD removed:
1. Find and print out a current copy of your student degree audit (CUNY Portal).
2. Pick up a copy of the CJBS Major Worksheet in Haaren Hall, room 422 OR print out the CJBS Major Worksheet.
3. Watch the awesome CJBS Advisement Youtube video
4. Check the courses on your student degree audit with the courses on the CJBS Major Worksheet and confirm what you have completed, what’s in progress, and what’s still needed.
5. Submit your student degree audit AND your completed CJBS Major Worksheet via email (to cherrmann@jjay.cuny.edu) OR drop off the student degree audit and the CJBS Major worksheet in the Law & Police Science department (Haaren Hall, room 422).
6. Your hold will be removed within 24 hours.
