Program Description
This program is designed for students wanting to complete an AAS Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and enter the workforce. Students explore electronics fundamental theories, applications and troubleshooting. Students interact with electronic devices and systems through a combination of hands-on lab activities and computer simulation preparing them for careers in a wide range of electronics positions. The labs allow students to become highly proficient in the use of standard electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters and power supplies. Courses include instruction in the fundamentals of DC and AC electricity, robotics, PLCs and automated controls, digital logic and microprocessors, and RF power systems.

What You Will Learn
Upon completion of the program you will be able to:
1. Analyze and implement basic analog and digital electronic circuits used in communication, control, computing, audio, and other applications
2. Interface computers or microcontrollers to sensors, actuators, displays, and other Internet-of-Things devices, and perform associated programming
3. Program and integrate industrial robots into a manufacturing work flow
4. Maintain, install, modify, and troubleshoot industrial control circuits and automated systems
5. Install and troubleshoot automated systems that include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
6. Wire industrial motors and associated control circuits, including variable-frequency drives
7. Read and interpret prints and schematics used in the electrical industry
8. Properly and safely use test equipment in the troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of electrical, instrumentation, and automation control systems
9. Perform and document routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic equipment and systems
10. Work safely and professionally in a diverse, cross-functional team environment in an industrial setting
My Academic Plan: Full-Time
Courses are displayed in a full-time sequence showing the fastest path to your degree. Follow the pathway below to complete your AAS degree in 4 semesters (2 years). For more information, please see your Academic Advisor.
First Semester
Semester Note: ELT 1206 is offered in Fall semesters.
If the student cannot take all of the First Semester courses, they should take the recommended math course, otherwise they will not be able to complete the program in 2 years.
After completing all the courses listed above, apply for the Electronics Assembly Certificate.
Second Semester
Third Semester
Fourth Semester
My Academic Plan: Part-Time
Courses are displayed in a part-time sequence providing flexibility for the working professional. Follow the pathway below to complete your AAS degree within 8 semesters (3 years). This pathway may be accelerated by applying transfer credit, credit for prior learning, and/or completing one or more additional courses each semester.
