MAT 107 Quantitative Analysis and Personal Finance

Quantitative Analysis and Personal Finance fulfills the Quantitative Literacy General Education requirement. This course is centered on the use of mathematics, especially in financial situations, to model and solve real-world problems. Math principles will be taught in a context of financial management principles that students will encounter over their lifetime. Topics include logical arguments, probability, statistics, modeling with exponential and linear functions, geometry, and financial management. Microsoft Excel will be used as a tool throughout the semester. This course is designed to satisfy the quantitative literacy course requirements for an Associate of Science degree.
