The Faculty
The DPT faculty are academically skilled and bring a balance of clinical expertise and research experience to both the classroom and the clinical skills courses. There are 14 full-time faculty with doctoral degrees, six of whom hold American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, sports, and neurology (2). In addition, there are four highly qualified part-time faculty who complement the expertise of the full-time faculty.
The faculty work cooperatively to prepare Elon graduates to be clinician generalists. The curriculum includes many unique active-learning opportunities for the student. Classes and laboratories are small, so the student-faculty ratio creates an environment where faculty are accessible to students. Faculty serve as role models for students through their participation in teaching, research, clinical practice and community service on campus as well as in the greater Elon University community.
