The Nursing Department at Elon University offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in two formats.  The first is a traditional, four-year undergraduate program for high school graduates.  After satisfying all Elon University core requirements, the four-year BSN program allows pursuit of a biology minor in addition to the nursing curriculum. The second is an accelerated BSN program for those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another field of study. The accelerated BSN program is an intensive, 16-month program.  Both programs include 65 credit hours and 540 clinical hours. These programs provide nurses who are committed to local and global health equity and demonstrate the ability to think broadly, critically and creatively to optimize client-centered care. Students will experience a progressive nursing curriculum including emphases on community-based population health, reduction of health disparities, and health informatics to optimize patient outcomes. 

The Department of Nursing is housed within the School of Health Sciences, providing nursing students with invaluable opportunities for interprofessional education, access to state-of-the-art facilities for engaged learning and simulation, and strong community partnerships for clinical placements and future employment.

The Elon Nursing Programs prepare students to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to become licensed, registered nurses.
