MTH 3350 MODERN GEOMETRY
This rigorous treatment of axiomatic foundations of Euclidean geometry through Hilbert's axioms includes the role and independence of the parallel postulate (revealed through models and neutral geometry), straightedge and compass constructions, historical and philosophical implications of the discovery of non-Euclidean geometry with an introduction to both hyperbolic and elliptic geometry.
