GBL 1920 LEADERSHIP FOR GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT
Participants in the Alternative Break Program engage in direct service while interacting intentionally with members of the local community. This course prepares student leaders for their role as coordinators in the Alternative Break Program. The course will incorporate issues of citizenship, social justice, and positive change and will introduce coordinators to the logistics, leadership, and risk-management skills needed to effectively lead an Alternative Break. In this course, coordinators will be challenged to think critically about their role as a leader and to reflect on ways they might make a difference locally and globally through leadership and advocacy. This will be an active, participatory course where conversation will be driven by participant feedback.
