EGR 3530 SOIL MECHANICS

This course introduces the fundamental properties and behavior of soil as an engineering material. Topics of study include soil formation, physical properties, water flow through soils, capillarity, seepage, stresses, shear strength, lateral pressure, and bearing capacity.  Hands-on soil identification and property testing along with design problems will be emphasized.  Laboratory included.
