ECO 4210 URBAN ECONOMICS AND PLANNING
The course will look into why cities form, what makes a city develop, and what are the different challenges that are faced by a city. Specifically, it studies the interaction of different agents in an urban setting. There are many different actors in a city living in close proximity and at times, it can be challenging to provide all the necessary services required to live in a city. The course studies how different actors in the city interact with each other and how public policy can help to improve the outcomes. The course merges economic concepts with ideas from other disciplines to understand the different aspects and challenges facing a city. Applied microeconomics.
Prerequisite
C+ or better in
ECO 3200, and completion or concurrent enrollment in
ECO 3100.
