AMS 170 CRITICAL WHITENESS STUDY
In this class, we will use the tools of Critical Whiteness Studies, an increasingly important field, to come to understand what it means to be white in America today. We will look at the history of whiteness, white privilege and white supremacy and how that history has shaped our contemporary world. We will ask about white ways of knowing and ignorance, white habits and power, and the relationship between whiteness and racism.
