Campus Recreation
Campus Recreation provides quality fitness and recreational experiences designed to positively impact the development of Elon students and contribute to the holistic well-being of the campus community. Through participation and employment in Campus Recreation, students are provided opportunities for the practical application of classroom theories and the development of leadership and other professional competencies. Approximately 85% of Elon students participate in Campus Recreation programs each year.
Campus Recreation has several facilities throughout campus and offers the following opportunities for students to get involved, including:
- Koury Center, the primary indoor recreational facility with a fitness center, six-lane pool, basketball gym, racquetball courts, exercise studios, and locker rooms
- More than 20 intramural sports
- 24 club sports
- Three fitness centers with strength equipment, cardio machines, and functional training spaces
- Indoor and outdoor basketball courts throughout campus
- A challenge course with low elements and a high ropes course, including a zip line
- Outdoor adventure trips
Additionally, Campus Recreation is the largest employer on campus with more than 150 student employees working in a variety of roles, such as lifeguards, intramural sports officials, group exercise instructors, outdoor adventure trip leaders, facility assistants, and more. Flexible scheduling allows for students of all majors to become involved. Employment informational sessions are offered at the beginning of each semester for students interested in applying for a job in Campus Recreation.
