HONO 3301 Community Engaged Art

This course introduces students to the concepts and craft of community-engaged art. In their assignments students will think critically and creatively about how art intersects with community concerns. The creative process will serve as an inquiry-based, hands-on approach to explore ideas, collaborate with others, and hone a unique and impactful artistic statement. Ultimately the class will produce a work of art with and for the community, which addresses locally relevant sustainability or social justice issues. This course only satisfies the CORE requirement when offered as a service learning course.
