HIST 1001 The Making of Today: Contemporary World History

This course strives to create a foundational understanding of the historical conditions under which the contemporary world came into being, with an emphasis on the recent past. The course is designed to provide context for interpreting global news and promote broader perspectives on world history. The course pays particular attention to political, social, cultural, and economic themes that link multiple regions together. In addition, this course will utilize methodologies which promote engagement with local and/or global communities to enhance civic knowledge and/or improve student civic skills. Meets nursing requirements.
