FAFSA Data Matching
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) performs several matches of the information that you provide on the FAFSA/Renewal FAFSA form with national databases, including
- The Department of Homeland Security
- The Social Security Administration
- The Department of Justice
- The National Student Loan Data System
- The Department of Veterans Affairs
- The Internal Revenue Service
If any of the information that is provided on the application is not consistent with the data that is on these databases, or if these agencies have any information that is relevant to your financial aid eligibility, the U.S. Department of Education will alert Del Mar College and the issues/questions will have to be resolved before your eligibility can be confirmed.
