Program Requirements/Restrictions
- To enter the Paralegal Studies advanced technical certificate program, the student must have earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning with a degree other than Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Education.
Paralegal Studies Program
Notwithstanding the provisions detailed in the Transfer Policy for Legal Specialty Courses (LGLA), in no circumstance will a student be awarded a PLGL.AAS degree or PLGS.ATC certificate unless at least 9 hours of paralegal specialty course work has been completed at DMC in a traditional class format, either face to face or synchronously.
Program Transfer Credit Policy: Del Mar College Paralegal Studies Program may award transfer credit for LGLA designated, legal specialty courses, except for LGLA 2266, on a case-by-case basis determined by the Director of the Paralegal Studies Program and the Department of Business Administration Chair, subject to approval of the divisional dean in compliance with the Transfer Policy for Legal Specialty Courses, that is available for inspection and copying at the Paralegal Studies Program Director's office.
