The Sociology Program prepares students to become more educated consumers of social data that they encounter in life. Sociology assists the student in becoming more aware of the complex interdependence of that characterize social relationships. It also emphasizes the great diversity found in society whether one considers gender, race and ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or social class.

The Sociology Program offers an Associate in Arts (AA) degree in Sociology. Additionally, the program includes the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Field of Study in Sociology course curricula for transfer to an upper-level higher education institution program in this field.
