The program introduces the student to educational practicum and internship experiences as well as theoretical models and ethical standards of the human services field. Through clinical and agency affiliations students have the opportunity to receive clinical experiences in the areas of substance abuse, counseling and mental health services. For students interested in this field, please be advised that a criminal background could keep you from being certified/licensed or may prevent you from working in some settings. For more information about required background checks for this field, please speak to a faculty member in this program.
A minimum grade of “C” is required for Human Services students in their major field.
