Course Description

ARTS 2356. BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY (3-3-3) The purpose of this class is to develop an expressive visual language using the traditional photographic materials. Skills include: camera operation, film exposure and processing, and darkroom printing. Relevant historic and contemporary photographers and approaches will be covered. Beyond this, each student will be encouraged to practice B&W photography to develop a personal vision. Students must supply paper, film, and other necessary supplies. 35 mm cameras are available for checkout. Assessment Levels: R1, E1, M1. 50.0605
