Program Mission, Description, and Outcomes
Mission:
The certificate program provides the student with a basic understanding of writing computer programming codes using a variety of programming languages. The students also learn to test, monitor, debug document and maintain computer programs. The program incorporates innovative teaching methods, uses the latest technology and industry relevant coding languages, thus encouraging student success.
Description:
The program provides a solid foundation in programming. Students develop skills enabling them to program in C, C++, Visual Basic; as well as to design and develop software. All credits earned in this program are applicable to the AS degree in Computer Programming and Analysis. Selected courses prep for MOS and Oracle Java certifications. Program courses transfer directly into Associate of Science in Computer Programming and Analysis and other Associate degree programs.
Successful completers of CET1600 are eligible to take the test to become a Network Plus Certified Professional.
Outcomes:
