PHY 165 Space, Time, and the Theory of Relativity
An introduction to the Newtonian and relativistic theories of space and time. Topics include the Galilean/Newtonian views of space, time, and motion, inertial reference frames, experimental evidence for the constancy of the speed of light, special relativity and apparent paradoxes, and a qualitative discussion of the general theory of relativity.
Prerequisite
MAT 110 or basic skills in math or placed in
MAT 165 or higher at entrance.
