EDU 227 Practicum and Introduction to Education

A required field experience serve as a foundation for exploring American education. One focus of the course is educational change using the Kentucky Education Reform Act as an example. Among the major topics covered are conflicting goals and assumptions in schooling, the governance and organization of schooling, teaching as a profession, the reflective process, and desired changes in schooling.
