HUM 294 The Baltic States

In this course we will investigate the political and cultural history of the Baltic States, with particular attention to the period of Soviet occupation c. 1940-1990 . We will focus on the role of music in the preservation of pre-Soviet identity and in the non-violent resistance/independence movement of the glasnost and perestroika periods.
