COMM 417 Social Media and Korean Popular Culture

This course explores the intersection of social media and Korean popular culture, offering you a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic relationship between social media platforms (i.e., YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok) and the spread of Korean cultural phenomena worldwide. Through an interdisciplinary approach, you will be able to learn the impact of social media on the dissemination, consumption, and interpretation of Korean popular culture, including K-pop, Korean dramas, films, fashion, cosmetics, and food.
