Overview

Offered at the Augusta campus

Entrance Dates: Fall
Length of Program: Two Terms
Credit Hours Required for Graduation: 20

Program Description: The Engineering Technology Basics technical certificate provides an introduction to engineering technology and a dual enrollment pathway leading to stackable college credentials for high school students. This TCC provides training in core engineering techniques including mathematical calculations, engineering drafting, and basic sciences.

Employment Opportunities: Engineering is recognized as a high-demand field. Overall employment of engineers is projected to grow 7 percent from 2020 to 2030. Postsecondary education is essential in the field of engineering technology, and there is a constant demand for engineering technicians in industrial and manufacturing facilities in the local area. This TCC is intended to introduce students to the field and to provide a pathway to further study, which would then lead to entry level employment. Upon completion of this TCC, the student may enroll in one of the Engineering Technology AAS degree programs at the Augusta Technical College.
