PUBH 4320 Essentials of Epidemiology

Epidemiology, the study of disease occurrence and determinants, lays the foundation for all public health practice. It is a scientific way of thinking about causes and effect. Epidemiology is used to investigate disease outbreaks, determine the natural history of disease, set resource priorities, and develop policies. Basic epidemiologic theory and techniques, applicable to public health practice, will be taught. This course will discuss the epidemiological process through a multitude of settings.
