YCST 2305 Education in the U.S.

This course is designed to study education in the United States through the lens of youth and community programs. Students will examine current education policy and trends. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of historical, ethical, and controversial perspectives in education. This course will address the impact standardized assessments and the accountability movement has on at-risk youth and how schools address this issue. Students will learn how at-risk youth and special populations are identified and appropriate programs offered in schools.
