ATHP 5412 Foundations of Athletic Training
This course is designed to provide the student with the foundational knowledge in the field of athletic training. Emphasis will be placed on the standards of care expected of all athletic trainers as well as the athletic trainer’s role in the larger healthcare community. Basic principles essential to patient care will be discussed, including foundational knowledge in organ physiology, nutrition, wellness, healing, and pain theories. Principles of health literacy, communication, and documentation will also be explored.

Admission to the Master of Science of Athletic Training program

This course is required for graduate athletic training students. This course may not be repeated for credit.
