EDUC 3380 Instruction Des/Classroom Mgmt
Instructional Design and Classroom Management is the first of the pedagogy courses in the professional development sequence of the Education Minor, preparing candidates for secondary and all-level teacher certification. This course, an introduction to teaching secondary students, is focused on classroom community-building and management strategies and instructional design.
The content encompasses knowledge and skills related to the professional dispositions of teaching
including: commitment and responsibility to teaching, content and pedagogical preparation, professional presence and demeanor, communication skills, and authentic engagement. In addition to the coursework, candidates must complete a minimum of twenty hours of guided field experience in assigned classrooms corresponding with their intended certification. This professional development course requires admission to the Teacher Certification Program.
