EDUC 50503 Foundations of Language Acquisition
Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 50223 and TESOL, or permission of the instructor. Course includes overview of language concepts, language learning research and theories, socio-cultural context for language development and program types. An overview of historic and current trends, policies and social issues affecting the education of linguistic minorities and assessment procedures appropriate to second-language learners are introduced.
