ED 554 Elementary Curriculum & Methods: Reading, Writing & Language Arts

This course in the study of literacy pedagogy for elementary education candidates focusing on the stages of literacy acquisition and the core components of literacy instruction, including concepts of print and the alphabetic principle, the roles of phonics in promoting reading development, word analysis skills and strategies, and methods for assessing reading development.
