Music, B.A.

All music majors, with the exception of keyboard majors, are required to enroll in class piano MUSC 1171, MUSC 1172, MUSC 1173, MUSC 1174 every semester until they have satisfied the departmental piano proficiency requirement. All keyboard majors must enroll in Piano Class V MUSC 1175 and pass an advanced piano proficiency exam. Majors are also required to attend recitals and concerts and satisfactorily complete a recital previously approved by the music faculty. It is strongly suggested that students pursuing the performance concentration take a minimum of 14 hours of applied music lessons prior to taking MUSC 4990.

All music majors must present a senior level recital on their primary instrument of approximately one hour in length.
