THEA 315 Acting Through Song
Ever wonder how Broadway performers make every lyric feel like a story? In this hands-on course, you’ll learn how to bring songs to life by connecting your voice and body to your character. We’ll dive into the performance side of musical theater — exploring how breath, phrasing, and emotion turn music into meaning. You’ll get to prepare and perform songs from the conventional and unconventional Broadway musical canon, discovering your unique style along the way.
Whether you’ve never sung outside the shower or you’ve been performing for years, this class is for anyone ready to explore the art of storytelling through song — and to build confidence on stage while doing it.
All experience levels welcome. Prerequisite: THEA 110 or permission of instructor.
