MUSC 473 Senior Performance and Composition Comprehensives Preparation
This course convenes senior Music majors with Instrumental Performance, Vocal Performance, and Composition Concentrations to design, workshop, share, and critique work that will become part of the senior recitals that will fulfill, in part, the Senior Comprehensive requirement. The course is also open to Juniors and Seniors with Production and other concentrations who are interested in performing their work in live environments. The focus of the course will be learning the craft of designing and promoting dynamic performances that expertly make use of space, stage design, costuming, personnel, microphone techniques, DJ gear, and audience participation as appropriate. Each student in the course will be responsible for designing one or two performances that will be staged during the semester. The course may be repeated once for credit. Junior or Senior standing is required. Permission of Instructor required.
