AMST 101 Introduction to American Studies
This course introduces the major topics and perspectives of the interdisciplinary field of American Studies. Students will explore the diversity of United States culture, critically, in: its official and unofficial histories, its self-representations in the arts, its complicated intersections of ideals and realities. The class is required for American Studies majors and minors, and recommended for anyone wanting to better understand the relations between culture and identity in the United States.
