POLS 352 Black Political Thought
This course is an intensive exploration of black political thought from a variety of perspectives. Emphasizing conceptual diversity and continuity across time and geography we will examine a wide range of authors including but not limited to Angela Davis W.E.B. DuBois Frantz Fanon Marcus Garvey bell hooks Martin Luther King Jr. Glenn Loury Booker T. Washington Ida B Wells Cornell West and Malcolm X. The range of ideological perspectives under review will include liberalism conservatism nationalism womanism Marxism and pan Africanism. Not open to frosh.
