EARL128 Infant-Toddler Dev and Learning
Students learn developmental theories and milestones of children aged 0 to 3 within the context of cultural, linguistic, and abilities diversity. They are introduced to learning standards and infant/toddler curricula including the framework of Art as a Way of Learning (AWL). Students evaluate healthy and safe indoor and outdoor learning environments integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Course requires 20 hrs. (2 hrs/wk) field experiences (lab) in programs serving children 0 to 36 months of age. Early childhood programs must be a licensed family, group, center, Head Start, faith-based, pre-k or nursery school setting. Additional course fees: $13.00. Child Abuse Registry, Criminal Background Check, and FBI clearances are required. Also available through Online Learning. Video/DVD documentation of student teaching required (online students only).
