Commonwealth Commitment Program

The Commonwealth Commitment is a statewide program available to eligible full‑time North Shore Community College students who plan to complete an approved MassTransfer A2B Pathway at NSCC and then transfer to a Massachusetts public university to earn a bachelor’s degree. Students who follow their designated A2B Pathway and meet program requirements may transfer as juniors into their major at the receiving institution.
To participate, students must enroll in a MassTransfer A2B Pathway aligned with their intended major and follow the corresponding NSCC Guided Pathway Sheet to ensure they complete the state‑approved curriculum.
At NSCC, students can pursue the Commonwealth Commitment through approved A2B Pathways that lead to an associate degree and prepare them for transfer in majors such as:

  • Biology
  • Business
  • Chemistry
  • Communications & Media Studies
  • Computer Science
  • Criminal Justice
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Economics
  • English
  • History
  • Liberal Arts / General Education
  • Mathematics
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • STEM (Natural/Physical Sciences)

Students should work with an academic advisor to ensure they are following the correct A2B Pathway and meeting all program requirements. More information about Commonwealth Commitment.
