PSYC 304 Career Development Facilitation
This couse is designed as a pre-service & in-service program for individuals who wish to attain the knowledge, competencies and skills needed to become a Career Development Facilitator (CDF). CDFs assist students in K-12, & those in post secondary & adult education, to explore career options, identify personal career interests & goals, access market information, & provide assistance in making career decisions. Specific competencies that students will achieve include: knowledge of labor market info & resources; experiences in assessment of individual career interests, abilities & values; knowledge of career development models; identification of skills needed for employment; appropriate use of tech resources; development of consultation skills; techniques for the management & promotion of the CDF program; & processes for the training of clients & peers. The course is intended to be taken in addition to Psyc 302, Interpersonal & Helping Skills Development. Credit for field experience through Service Learning or Internship will also be expected to complete the certification. Offered on demand.
