COMM 3005 Mutimedia Storytelling

In this course, students gain hands-on knowledge of the principles and techniques for juxtaposing visuals, narrative and sequential visual storytelling to tell clear and compelling stories. Through a combination of presentations, discussions, reading assignments and exercises, students learn about the creative, aesthetic and practical issues involved when generating successful sequential visual storytelling projects for graphic novels/comics, storyboards, film, video and/or games. Using drawings, photos/stills, digital models or a combination of assets, students will generate a comic book sequence or storyboard (for a film, video or games project) that will demonstrate a working knowledge of sequential visual storytelling techniques. Students will be assessed via quizzes, graded presentations, and required project critique.
