AAS in Fire Protection and Safety Technology

The Associate of Applied Science degree program in Fire Protection and Safety Technology is designed to create knowledge in firefighting tactics and strategies including hazardous materials and their control, fire hydraulics, and safety management. You'll also learn about all areas of fire prevention and develop the critical skills necessary to handle the challenges and demands of fire protection.  Graduates of the Fire Protection and Safety Technology program have a wide selection of career opportunities.  Your education will assist you in becoming an expert in many areas including fire protection, recognition and correction of fire hazards, design and application of fire extinguishing equipment, as well as the utilization of fire codes and  standards. The program is designed to prepare you for a career in fire protection in municipal, state, or federal agencies.  It also provides instruction for current fire fighters wishing to prepare for career advancement.  Completion of the LC program prepares the graduate for various employment opportunities, but does not guarantee or imply employment in any specific capacity.
