PHIL 175 Ethics of AI, Internet, and Algorithms
Focuses on ideas, practices, and institutions that shape our relationship to AI, the Internet, data, and algorithms. Considers philosophy of technology, technology ethics, and interdisciplinary science and technology studies to discuss the ongoing impact of the Internet on society. Critically assesses data, algorithms, and large language models (LLMs) as they relate to ethical matters such as privacy and fairness. Situates AI in this context, including its impact on ownership and creativity. [H, V]
