ECON 405 Measuring Poverty and Inequality
This course gives the students some knowledge on the different instruments and approaches available to measure poverty and inequality, in their multiple dimensions, with particular reference to the instruments designed and used by the World Bank and the UNDP. It has a philosophic-historical part, with a deep analysis of the concepts of poverty and inequality, a methodological part (study of the measure instruments) and an applied empirical part (topics and current literature).
