SPED 5005 FOUNDATIONS OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

This course examines the etiologies and characteristics of learning and behavioral disabilities as defined by IDEIA (2004). Implications for classroom practice, including the referral process for special education, and effective inclusion, are discussed in relation to historical and legal foundations. Current issues and trends are discussed.
