Program Description
The Post-Master’s Certificate Option: Applied Behavior Analysis: Autism and Developmental Disabilities is an option for those who already hold a Master’s Degree and would like to pursue becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®). This certificate program meets the 315-hour coursework requirement Applicants will need to meet additional requirements before they can be deemed eligible to take the examination. This Post-Master’s Certificate Program is rooted in the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Kean University, you will develop an evidenced-based approach to teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Developmental Disabilities.
If you are interested in becoming a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®), and hold a Master’s degree, this Certification Program is for you. The seven courses that comprise this program meet the 315 hours of coursework required to take the BCBA® exam beginning in 2027. Additional requirements by the BACB include supervised fieldwork (see www.BACB.com for information on the current requirements to sit for their BCBA® exam).
Admission Requirements
In addition to the University’s admissions requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in an acceptable field of study from a qualifying institution 3.0 cumulative grade point average
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Three letters of recommendation (professional experience)
- Furnish an appropriate scholarly writing sample
- Professional Resume/CV
- Professional statement of interest
- Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports (International Students ONLY)
