OVERVIEW
The Department of Graduate Social Work offers a Master in Social Work degree with the specialization in direct clinical practice. The MSW department received an eight year re-accreditation in 2019. MSW classes are offered during the evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturday mornings. Perspective students may select from one of the following four options.
- Advanced Standing (requires an undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work degree)
- Two year sequence
- Three year sequence
- Online option
All candidates must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; advanced standing candidates require 3.2 GPA; candidates for the Online option must also have a minimum of 2.5 years experience in social work.

FIELD EDUCATION
MSW students are required to complete two years of field practicum: Advanced Standing students are required to complete one year of field practicum. First year is generalist/foundation: students must complete 480 field hours Second year is specialization/clinical: students must complete 600 field hours.
