SOC 104 Sociology of Health & Illness

(Contact Hours: 3) This course examines the social causes and consequences of health and illness. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between society and health with a focus on the social causes and distribution of health and illness within American society and cross-culturally. Additionally, this course explores how social structures and inequity impact the patterns of health and illness with respect to social class, race, gender, and age. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
