GEO 109 Earth Science Elem Teacher I

(Contact Hours: 5) This inquiry-based course is designed for prospective elementary teachers. Students will develop an understanding of key earth science concepts and their interrelationships; use problem solving that facilitates insight in the nature of science as an intellectual activity, explore concepts of scientific phenomena, and develop more positive attitudes about science and increase their confidence in their ability to do science. Study will include the sciences of meteorology, physical geography, cartography, and geomorphology (landscape development). Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
