ENG 4140 TOPICS CREATIVE WRITING POETRY

This class will take a broad view of forms in poetry (prose poems, biblical verse, sonnets, the blues, haiku, ghazals, blank verse) and a limited view of the type of work that will be produced in the class: imitations, mainly, so we’ll read 25 sonnets, and then try our hand at one, or read a dozen hallucinatory pantoums, then get in the boat ourselves.
