Cybersecurity (MS)
The Master of Science in Cybersecurity (MSC) offered by the Barowsky School of Business (BSB) is a one-year intensive program for working professionals as well as recent college graduates interested in cybersecurity management. Our MSC program develops leaders who can address people, process, technology, and vendor/supply chain aspects of strategic cybersecurity efforts by supporting and motivating collaboration across the organization and driving optimized solutions that enable the company to manage evolving risk and achieve its business goals. Our program allows participants to develop the necessary skills to make informed cybersecurity decisions by analyzing potential outcomes, benefits, and risks.
BSB’s MSC program adheres to the highest standards for business education as evidenced by the School’s accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), the organization that accredits the best business schools in the world. The goal of the MSC program is to develop graduates who can perform relevant data analysis and transform analytical results into actionable business insights.
The MSC is a 12-month program that consists of twelve 3-unit courses for a total of 36 units, including a Practicum. Students take two courses per term, which is a seven-week (two-month) period.
Degree candidates must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 ('B') or higher in the program in order to graduate.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management frameworks.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and making risk informed cybersecurity related business decisions.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently about cybersecurity opportunities and threats to businesses, diverse stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Formulate ethical decision-making to moral dilemmas in cybersecurity, including ChatGPT, Data Privacy, and Bias

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Courses in the MSC program require access to a laptop or desktop computer for the duration of the program. Any computer not older than 6 years, will work so long as it has or is upgraded to have a solid- state drive (SSD) hard drive and at least 16 GB RAM.
To ensure that all Dominican students can take courses in the MSC program, the following options are recommended for meeting this requirement:

Option 2: Purchase a used computer. Any computer will work so long as it has or is upgraded to have a solid-state drive (SSD) hard drive and at least 16 GB RAM. Used computers can be found on Amazon, eBay, and Craigslist. Please use caution when purchasing a used computer.

Option 4: Loaner laptops. Also, for students who qualify for financial aid, there may be a limited supply of semester-long loaner laptops available for use during the semester. For more information, contact Student Affairs.
