SPAN 2111 Intermediate Spanish for Health Professions
Continuation of
SPAN 1100: further practice in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish. Grammar review, oral practice, composition, and special emphasis on vocabulary needed by medical personnel, counselors, psychology majors, public health and OT professionals.. Topics include greetings with cultural and medical protocols, getting to know the patient, assisting in taking preliminary medical histories, and assisting in patient assessment and treatment and successful cross-cultural communication. Prerequisite:
SPAN 1100 or equivalent, or permission of languages director.
